The context:

Throughout the creative industry I am interested in various sectors mainly surrounding film, photography and cinematography. What all these three have in common is that I feel that as a creative person you feel as though you could express yourself better as an individual. As the creative industry is competitive and also mainly specializing in individual work, working and specializing in the top three listed above help and aid me in expressing myself and allows me to be interested in the creative industry as a whole.

The media side of working in the creative industry however is very competitive; the creative industry has people from all over the world with as little as a film camera or as big as a production company, media is everywhere. With more and more schools and colleges specializing in the media industry there is only room to grow leaving room for competition only to grow.

Looking for work in the creative industry is usually based on whom you know and what you can produce, and in some cases finding work is down to sheer luck. As an individual in the creative industry, your work will be scrutinized by the world dependent on where you decide to showcase your work. Your work allows people to take a dip into your world and see, smell, touch, hear or even taste what you can produce. Your work is an interpretation of you and being judged by the work you can produce plays an important role positive and also negative.

In my personal opinion, Idents double as a business card when it comes to the media industry. Idents assist by demonstrating (even if it is brief) what you can be capable of. Whilst researching Idents, one major thing I had noticed is that some of the people who create them put their information on them, such as; Twitter, Facebook and any relevant sources of contact such as email.

By students viewing your Ident/s I believe that dependent on the person may use your Ident for researching or/and inspirational purposes. Some of the people whose videos I watched of their final products as well as tutorials sounded as though they were in the same age bracket as my class peers and I.
